I work in a pleasant school in a good area too and we have
few problems recruiting.
Are you responsible for the advertising? Are the
advertisements going in the right place in plenty of time?
Of course, the position you are trying to leave may have some
influence over how many candidates may apply.
Why are you "stuck"? Can you not just move into the new
position and leave the responsibility of filling your
previous post with senior management?
